Monday 5th February 2018
2024 Specially Selected Online Bull Offering / 11th October.
Monday 5th February 2018
The Reiland genetics sale will be held from 11am at the Gundagai saleyards and features a yarding of 830 joined and unjoined females.
Among the draft will be 270 cows being offered for genuine sale with advanced, spring calves at foot and re-joined.
“This sale is a unique opportunity for cattle producers to purchase quality genetics from noted industry herds,’’ Reiland co-principal Mark Lucas said.
“Many of the vendors of these cattle are receiving bonus premiums when consigning steers to feedlots,’’ he said.
“These cow/calf units will be especially mothered prior to the sale date so purchases can operate at a high level of confidence.
“These spring calving cows will fit perfectly into any productive breeding program.’’
Mr Lucas said the autumn calving cows and heifers would reflect the positive pasture growth since weaning.
“The presentation of these animals reflects the decades of solid, practical genetic selection from the Lucas family’s Reiland Angus bloodlines,’’ he said.
Elder’s agent Chris Annetts remarked on the major opportunity the quality PTIC spring calving heifers presented to buyers and suggests they are a safe and reliable investment relative to steer or heifer trading options.
“All joining bulls emanated from Reiland bloodlines, with selections focused on short gestations and low birth for this PTIC heifer offering,’’ Mr Lucas said.
Among the bigger draft of autumn calving PTIC cows and heifers will be a consignment of 43 cows, 3.5 years, PTIC to Reiland bulls, and offered by E W Proudford, “Woodford’’.
Bruce Angel, “Broula’’, Tarcutta, will offer 40 PTIC cows, four to six years, and due to calve in May.
Houston Pastoral, Burrowye Station, will offer a draft of 30 PTIC hiefers, 2.5 years, with calves, aged four to five months, and joined to low birthweight sire, Reiland G581.
Other vendors of spring cows and calves include Taranee Pastoral, Mt Hugel, Coolong Pastoral and J & P Bourne.
The draft from Reiland Angus will include 84 cows, five to seven years, and calves, five to six months, and rejoined to Reiland bulls for a spring calving over seven weeks.
Reiland will also offer 64 PTIC heifers, 16-17 months, joined to Reiland bulls for a spring calving over seven weeks.
Other vendors with spring calving heifers are Wokolena Pastoral, Narracala Partnership, Mt Hugel, S & J Turnbull, Coorumbene Pastoral, S & L Locke, Paragon Pastoral and J & P Bourne.
